Personal Diary of Zed

About Me
This is a little weird to write because this is my personal diary, but I guess if someone were to find it or stumble across it, they should probably know who I am.

Hi! I’m Zed. If there’s one thing you should know about me it is that my life-long dream is to grow up and be a DRAGON! It’s all I’ve ever wanted. You see, being a Kobold means you are pretty small and the world likes to pick on you. Even worse, I’m a pretty small Kobold, so everyone is picking on little Zed.

I like to label my diary entries, but they show up with the newest entry first. So if you want to avoid secrets and spoilers, you'll have to visit the end of the diary to get to the beginning. Tricky aren't I?!

Week 7 - the return

12/2/2021

After a good dead sprint from the campsite, we arrived back to Greenest. We shared our findings with the Governor and he paid up on his promise. I have never seen this much gold. I have no idea what to do with it, but I guess I'll hold it for now.

We had a few days to rest. Leo was kind to help me through my first lessons after I found the Way of the Ascendant Dragon. We would train and meditate throughout the day. I was so excited, I definitely wore out poor Leo. After our final lesson, Leo handed back the manuscript to me and said that he sees something special in me. I could be of great good, but it is hidden behind a lot of fears. Needless to say, Leo was adamant to point out that he believed in me. That's not something that is often said to me, so it was touching, but I'm not exactly sure what to make of it. Pátrin also to a moment during our rest and carved me a little birdie out of wood. He said something about it was to help me find my voice. Why is everyone (besides Mordoc and maybe Korasche) being so nice to me? I seriously can't handle it!

Leo then asked us for a favor. He asked if we could go back to the campsite and see if they had moved out and that he had heard of a cave with great secrets, and that we needed to go back and investigate. Since we were all well rested, we obliged and made our way back.

Once we arrived, the place looked completely empty. We noticed that the trails were heading west, but we hadn't made much of that. Deep in the back of the campsite, along the hillside, was a cave. Not sure how we missed that the first time, but glad we're here.

Upon arriving to the cave, I saw some shuffles of a couple cultists, but they were of a different breed. They looked a little meaner, but they were still cultists. I don't like them one bit. I was reflecting on my training time with Leo, and I took his words of wisdom to heart. I could be great! I just need to get over my fears. Instead of waiting for Pátrin to turn into a bear or something, I ran right up to the meanie and POW! I gave him a good punch to his thigh. This time though, the punch was a little different. I could feel a little energy flow through me and my fist emitted a little burst of fire.  IT WAS SO COOL! Right after I punched that meanie, his buddy saw it and came over and gave me a solid beat down. Hunched over, I looked up to the meanie and unloaded a bunch of kicks and punches and he was knocked out!

We proceeded to make our way through the caves and this cave is CREEPY. The ceiling is covered in bats, and I would hate to startle them. I've been just riding Pátrin, who shaped into a bear. It makes for easy travel. We came across an area with some funky purple fungus, but they didn't really seem challenging for us. Then we got to an opening and it was super smelly. We were exploring the smelly cavern cause Pátrin saw something shiny, when all of a sudden these monsters emerged from the filthy floor. I think someone said they were Trogdors, but I didn't ask questions, I just gave them a good punching and the rest of the team was able to make quick work of them.

Most of the shiny things were a bunch of garbage, but we were able to find a bag with some gemstones in there. They sure were are pretty.  After the battle with the Trogdors, Mordoc recommended we take a pause and figure out where we should head next.

There's a path to the left. There's a path to the right. Where will we end up?
