Overview

This is ultimately a burn deck that is looking to quickly reduce your opponents' lives from twenty to zero.

Chandra, Torch of Defiance
This planeswalker as our Oathbreaker grants us a tremendous amount of utility. Being able to potentially cast extra spells, add mana, and be a removal spell all offer us options in the early stages of the game. Should we be able to ultimate Chandra, our opponents might as well concede because we will have no problem killing them once we can do an additional five points of damage every time we cast a spell.

Flame Rift
Flame Rift is powerful for dealing four points. Yes, we also take that damage as well, but considering all the additional creatures and burn spells, we will be winning the life total race. Additionally, a critical play can be made on turn 5 in which we are able to cast Flame Rift twice in that turn thanks to the mana ability of Chandra.

Group Slug
There are several cards that punish your opponents for the work they are trying to do. Whether it is trying to gain life, play lands, casting spells, add creatures to the battlefield, or even just existing in the game, each of these group slug cards take small shots at their life totals. It all adds up very quickly and encourages fast games to be played.

Spellslinger
While having access to some of the game's best burn spells, this deck also features a collection of creatures that reward you for casting instant and sorceries in the form of more damage to your opponents. Thermo-Alchemist, Firebrand Archer, Electrostatic Field, and Guttersnipe put in a tremendous amount of work in helping you get your opponents' lives to zero.

Conclusion

This is a highly competitive, and very frustrating deck to play against. This deck is meant to be played with a playgroup that is looking to do some of the more powerful strategies in Oathbreaker. One part group slug, one part spellslinger, this deck can and does kill opponents very quickly.
