Oathbreaker // Signature Spell
Nissa, Voice of Zendikar // Nissa's Triumph
The strategy for this deck is to take advantage of landfall, +1/+1 counters, and proliferate.
Nissa, Voice of Zendikar
Nissa, Voice of Zendikar is the choice because we want to use her for her ability to put counters on all our creatures (there will be a lot) and have an opportunity to draw cards. Nissa's Triumph is our signature spell so we can ramp, make sure we hit out landfall triggers, and make sure we can tutor for our utility lands.
Tireless Tracker allows us to get clues, which becomes a card drawing engine. Zendikar's Roil, Sporemound and Rampaging Baloths create a creature with each landfall trigger, Courser of Kruphix gains life, and Undergrowth Champion gains a counter and plays great defense. Finally, Evolution Sage plays one of the proliferate roles when a land enters the battlefield.
Our Oathbreaker puts +1/+1 on all our creatures, proliferate allows us to grow those creatures to be much larger than our opponent's creatures. Both Nissa planeswalkers that we play have great ultimates that we might call upon when the moment is right. Evolution Sage is incredible in this role, but we also have the ability to tutor for Karn's Bastion when the time is right.
Nissa's Triumph allows us to search for more than just basic lands, so there is a small package of lands that give us some game against our opponents. Ghost Quarter lets us control our opponent's lands. Mystifying Maze protects us against any voltron strategies or any big creature that hurts us early. Westvale Abbey can close games quick depending on our draw. Ramunap Excavator allows us to bring any of these back should our opponents catch on to our plan.
This is a very fun deck that looks innocent, but can ramp very quickly and go crazy. If you like making lots of creatures and making them big, then this is a deck for you. There are many more synergies than are listed above, which makes the deck half as fun as it is.
